A nice piece from Tony Ord laying out the case for cost-effectiveness in global health, arguing from a philosophical level why we need such work to be done. I liked this as it’s well written, clear, and brief.
More controversial but interesting NGO report arguing that Africa is on net being exploited from a resource perspective. I’m less sold on a few streams they discuss (eg, climate change is a tough one, though not entirely unfair), but the overall idea of comparing streams in/streams out and the focus on non-African companies reaping the primary profit of the work there rings true.
Exciting plan to stop human deaths from dog-borne rabies by 2030. Rabies remains an important infectious disease, and as ever, it’s interesting to read people discussing plans to eradicate things.
