YRG CARE is a Chennai-based HIV/AIDS care and research organization that has kindly allowed us to visit these last two years. As ever, it’s impressive to hear of their pan-India work around HIV, especially their new studies looking at the best way to penetrate relatively isolated social networks (men who have sex with men, people who use IV drugs) to better diagnose and connect with care HIV and HCV positive patients.
I heard a range of interesting things – more on some of those later – but wanted to finish with a link to a beautiful New Yorker piece in memory of the organization’s founder. Short, sweet, and moving.
