THINGS I WILL MISS ABOUT INDIA
-My travel partners (Gina from China, LaRonda, Son of a Hudspeth, G-UNIT!)
-Having someone cook delicious meals for me every day
-Getting to learn about different healthcare systems
-Having a work day that lasts from 9am-2pm
-Napping in the car 3x a day
-My morning alarm: call to prayer from our neighborhood mosque
-Trying new foods
-Getting to meet other medical professionals whose passion for their work inspires me to find some niche in medicine that makes me feel the same way, to find my calling
-Indian soap operas
-Kids who are super excited when you wave to them
-Reading books on the deck with my morning chai
-Monkey sightings!
-Learning about Indian culture and Hinduism
-Funny signs
-Learning more about global health and its associated systems
-Eating a chocolate bar a day
-Playing carrom
-Things that are unexpectedly decorative (like trucks)
-Our driver, Raju, and how he starts honking the horn 10 minutes before he comes flying out of the driveway
-Watching people get on and off moving buses with astounding grace
-Indian beer tastings
-Gopal after a Sprite
-Sightseeing
THINGS I WILL NOT MISS ABOUT INDIA
-The traffic
-Having spicy food for every meal including snacks
-The shower with the 2 water jets that can take your eye out
-Bug bites/mosquito staircase
-Toilets that are holes in the groun
d with no TP
-MILK SKIN!
-Not being able to drink tap water or eat fresh fruit
-Aggressive picture taking by strangers
-Nonstop honking
-Spotty internet service
-Eating pepto on a regular basis
-Public urination
-“The cobra” aka middle seat belt that squeezes you after big meals
-Living in constant fear of food poisoning
-Not being able to sleep
-Getting cut in line for everything
